You are an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer (SE), with a minimum of 6 years of direct technical pre-sales engineer sales experience. You will be responsible for the technical relationships with customers and prospects, and you will identify and match technology opportunities with our customers’ business needs. In these pre-sales’ technical role, you will showcase Citrix product solutions. You will be leveraged as an industry and market expert to develop and present technical solutions and proposals and assist in closing complex technical Citrix product solutions. This is a remote based position with travel to customer locations or corporate meetings, as needed.

 

Position Summary:

Provides technical support to sales reps and partners on customer deals across the sales cycle by leveraging strong technical knowledge of Citrix solutions. Drives development of technical offering to meet customer business needs under the guidance of product specialists and/or ERM/CAM/FSM account reps. Supports enterprise, corporate, and mid-market accounts, working with Citrix resources and channel/Alliance partners to define offering and develop solutions, coordinated by Product Sales Specialist where present. Provides insight on technology trends, product developments, and technical capabilities, engaging with the customer to drive technical understanding of solution and value for business needs. Providing expertise in technical sales presentations to address issues/objections, conducting technical presentations and/or demonstrations. Enable partners’ Sales Engineers to define offerings, develop solutions and communicate with customers in Growth and Emerging markets.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Leverages product knowledge, in their area of focus, to provide technical expertise to the Citrix sales team and customer through customer needs, overcome objections, technical sales presentations; product demonstrations; and product proof of concepts, focusing on achieving the technical win.
  • Participates in the consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation as it applies to the technical sales process.
  • Works on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies.
  • Creates formal networks with key decision makers and serves as external spokesperson for the organization, uncovering business requirements and opportunities. Provides this voice of the customer back to management and product teams.
  • Ability to leverage and maximize partners as the fulfillment channel while working with Citrix end user accounts on IT and business initiatives.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations and technical presentations remotely or at customer locations/Citrix facilities on Citrix Solutions value proposition
  • Create and deliver technical product presentations and/or training sessions to channel partners and customers, in a 1:1 or 1: many fashions, including regional and major trade shows
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4 + years prior sales engineering experience in a high-tech environment with a demonstrated track record of success in driving customer adoption of technology
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Networking and security certifications a plus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to apply a thorough understanding of Citrix products required, understanding the broader virtualization and mobility stack.
  • Able to articulate and understand the customer strategy and Citrix solution strategy to a technical level of detail for their area of focus.
  • Ability to diffuse complicated technical and political situations with partners and customers.
  • Previous experience with at least one major mobile or mobile management solution provider.
  • Strong understanding of mobile platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry.
  • Strong understanding of mobility solutions based on Blackberry Enterprise servers and ActiveSync.
  • Must have a good understanding of deploying IT based messaging solutions based on Microsoft Exchange.
  • Knowledge of the technical components of an enterprise IT infrastructure. This includes Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, TCP/IP, Firewalls, VPNs and Virtualization
  • Understanding of networking and support challenges for wireless applications.
  • Understanding of client / server and cloud architectures and operations.
