This analyst/specialist, who will work on the Quality Assurance (QA) Team within the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) will report to the Supervisor, Financial Crimes, all of whom are part of SVB’s Financial Crimes Risk Management unit. Analysts on the QA Team are responsible for conducting reviews to ensure that work performed by FIU analysts is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements and SVB policies and procedures. A successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of BSA/AML expectations and regulatory requirements, as well as the department’s functions and processes. The title of the successful candidate will depend on background, history, knowledge, and skill set.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reviews work completed by FIU analysts to ensure that policies and procedures have been followed and regulatory expectations have been met
  • Documents and communicates areas of strength, opportunity, and other issues to FIU analysts and appropriate management, and ensures that corrective action for the review (if necessary) was taken
  • Generates related reports, including detailed findings, suggestions, and trends observed to management on a regular basis
  • Maintains knowledge of current Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) trends and regulatory requirements
  • Participates and conducts in-person coaching, training, and feedback sessions with FIU team

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree of higher preferred. Individuals with required education/experience plus Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification would be preferred
  • 1-3 years of previous BSA/AML experience and/or 2-4 years of direct QA experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of USA PATRIOT Act, BSA, AML, and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Rule regulatory requirements
  • Previous experience demonstrating the following skills is required:
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with management and staff
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent investigative, analytical, and problem resolution skills
    • Ability to prioritize and complete deliverables in a timely and effective manner
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to adjust to program and procedural changes
    • High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and performing Internet-based research
