A Data Designer plays an integral part of the Enterprise Data Office by providing thought leadership and performing a variety of tasks that guide and position data-intensive projects/programs for success.  This is accomplished by understanding data requirements, coordinating work across IT, ensuring resources are following appropriate practices and enterprise standards. This role may also be tasked to present experience and learning from various projects to/from the current, future, and past to enable a continuous improvement mindset within the data space. 

Essential Job Functions

•    Subject matter expertise with the knowledge of Farmer’s data assets, IT applications processes, tools, and techniques. 
•    Provides recommendations, reconciles conflicts, aligns needed resources, identifies, and resolves deviations in practices. 
•    Maps the flow of data and the business processes and/or technical interfaces which would be created or impacted and recommends solutions/adaptations. 
•    Documents the source to target mappings for data integration and web services. 
•    Ensures alignment with data quality and transformation rules and develops infrastructure and/or other tools to communicate mapping to relevant groups. 
•    Works with enterprise partners to conduct complex data profiling using enterprise standard technologies. 
•    Key contributor in the creation and review of conceptual, logical, and physical data models and determines the most appropriate method to represent the data for business consumption. 
•    Proactively consults and provides recommendations and direction on data needs to satisfy business requirements, intent, and objectives.
•    Ensures Compliance with Enterprise Data Governance policies and standards on information risk and data protection guidelines. 

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Requirements

•    Two to Five years’ experience working in a data related role, preferably within the financial services industry
•    Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to identify big picture developments and succinctly communicate them to others
•    Experience with Microsoft Excel, various databases, ETL, data modeling, cloud, and querying tools. 
•    Understanding of data entity relationships and data modeling
•    Broad knowledge base with a strong understanding of end-to-end solution delivery
•    Ability to work in Multiple environments with differing personalities to achieve desired results
