WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

As a Senior Product Designer (IoT), you’ll craft experiences for configuring, monitoring, and gathering insights from smart spaces. Collaborating closely with cross-functional partners, you’ll balance a strategic approach with lean design execution. You’ll get to understand the complex needs of customers, help to set the vision for products grounded in those needs, and partner with cross-functional teams to build iteratively.

Our team's primary focus is on software, but we also find opportunities to collaborate with teams across the organization to improve the end-to-end customer journey. Meraki believes the quality of our products is dependent on the quality of our teams. We place a high value on nurturing the growth and development of everyone on our team. On the Design Team, we give and get feedback early and often, share what we know, and learn from each other.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify the right problems to solve, sketch and prototype solutions, and create high-fidelity designs.
  • Iterate based on insights from user research, analytics, peer feedback, and other data.
  • Collaborate with partners in product management and engineering to define problems and explore solutions. Build effective working relationships and bring the wider team into the design process.
  • Present persuasively. Be able to tell the story of a project and clearly articulate design rationale.
  • Advocate for design-centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.
  • Evangelize the impact of design with business partners.

YOU ARE AN IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU HAVE:

  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience with mobile app design and work across platforms, including Android and iOS.
  • Experience designing experiences around IoT devices, cameras, or sensors.
  • Designed solutions for complex domains and workflows, understanding the complexities to make them simpler and more approachable.
  • Pushed to understand the user needs behind feature requests.
  • Balanced developing a vision with shipping often and iteratively.
  • Worked with PMs and developers to understand trade-offs and to ensure that the details are done right.

About Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an expansive future for all.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do – you can’t put us in a box!

But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.
