Your role at Sephora: 

As an Engineer, IT Services you will primarily be responsible for developing enhancements and solutions to support the functionality, performance, scalability and resiliency of Sephora’s JIRA and Confluence platform. You will also support and work on additional technology platforms such as Service Now, custom Knowledge base, and various reporting tools. Reporting to the Director, IT Services you will be part of a team responsible for providing solutions to enable cross functional users to deliver the highest level of service to the business (stores/FSC/Distribution Centers). 

  • Influence and execute the design & build for features and bug fixes in JIRA, Confluence, and  related platforms + integrations
  • Create Projects, Custom Fields, Design Workflow scheme, Screen scheme, Permission scheme and Field Configuration Scheme.
  • Provide Best practices/Solutions for Using Jira 7 & 8 in different Scrum/Kanban team
  • Understand the requirement, scope of story and areas of impact while providing estimate.
  • Demo and document specifications, design, features and operation of applications prior to production roll out. Maintain current technical documents for all solutions built / supported
  • Actively participate, collaborate, and influence overall IT Services deliveries with Leadership, Project Management, and QE teams
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and purpose with sensitivity to short, medium, and long-term goals
  • Provide Maintenance, Production Support, and System Administration for all IT Services platforms (Service Now, JIRA/Confluence, HelpMe (KB), Facilities Management platform etc)
  • Experience installing and upgrading JIRA and Confluence.
  • Maintain the Servers and implement best practices for zero downtime.
  • Communicates technical and operational issues to both engineering and business leadership in a timely manner.
  • Production Support - Ensure issues are tracked and resolved within SLAs.
  • Conduct technical Sessions and KT across teams.

We’re excited about you if you have: 

  • 3+ years in overall software engineering design and development experience, including working on large-scale applications
  • Strong experience with Engineering, Maintenance, Administration, and upgrade of JIRA & Confluence including understanding / Implementation of JIRA datacenter version (Network topology , Software and Configuration part )
  • Experienced with Linux (Red Hat)
  • Knowledge of VB Script, Java, JavaScript, XML, JSP, SQL, PERL, and Python HTTP, REST and SOAP protocols
  • Ability to read, understand and analyze logs from multiple systems and tech stacks
  • Ability to Identify root causes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong business analysis, technical analysis, analytical & critical thinking, decision making ability
  • Strong affinity to visualize solutions using Lucidchart, etc.
  • Minimal knowledge of PostgreSQL is nice to have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
