Lyft’s Hardware Technology Team is in search of an Advanced Hardware Engineer to identify and mature new and impactful technologies for our micromobility ecosystem. Candidates should have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering and have the skills to work both as an individual contributor and as a technical lead for a cross-functional team. Candidates should be able to leverage their product development experience and systems-level thinking to drive evaluation, development and deployment of technologies and algorithms to improve our micromobolity offerings.This role is a perfect opportunity for a high performing and driven engineer to take on a broader scope and to deliver a greater impact by leading multidisciplinary efforts that will both grow our business and improve our cities.

Responsibilities:

• Distill product requirements into technical requirements for systems, modules and algorithms
• Identify key risks and corresponding evaluation criteria to prove out and derisk new designs or technologies
• Lead the development and integration of new technology into both new and existing products; this may use in-house or third party resources
• Hands-on work evaluating early prototypes and algorithms to demonstrate viability of concepts
• Create and maintain key records for projects including requirements, timelines, and controlling design documents
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand ecosystem pain points and identify potential technological solutions
