Job Description

The IT Facilities Project Manager has responsibility for all IT facilities buildouts. This includes Data centers, Remote offices, and events. This position will be responsible for leading the Installation Services team to achieve business objectives and customer expectations by successfully delivering hardware/software installation services on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality.

Your Impact

  • Manage structured cabling fit-outs of global workplace projects including programming, design, construction, commissioning, budget, schedule, quality control, and close out.

  • Provides onsite support for the IT Implementation team.

  • Partner with Real Estate to evaluate connectivity and infrastructure feasibility during site selection.

  • Participate in project ideation, chartering, scoping, estimating, and solutioning phases of the Project Portfolio and Intake process.

  • Lead pre-construction activities including site survey, network and structured cabling design, audio-visual design, tender process, material procurement, and stakeholder signoffs.

  • Interface directly with business and workplace leadership to define project requirements and ensure technical designs address the needs of the business.

  • Establish project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate and budget, accruals, schedule & milestones, and risk mitigation plans.

  • Lead project teams by providing guidance and direction to achieve project goals, resolve project conflicts and establish appropriate resolution paths.

  • Manage the delivery of each project against business objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines.

  • Serve as a POC and escalation point for the projects, infrastructure implementation strategy, plans, issues, and risk identification and management.

  • Provide timely reporting including: project status, critical milestones, risk mitigation plan, budget forecasts and accruals, and change management.

  • Collaborate with multiple business partners including Real Estate, Workplace Operations, Physical Security, IT and AV Operations, Procurement, and Legal/Global Compliance to negotiate competing priorities and drive alignment towards business objectives.

  • Manage dependencies between multiple projects, multiple teams, and overall change management processes.

  • Update documentation and coordinate operational handoff review

  • Develop strong partnerships with technology and business leaders.

  • Travel required (approximately 50% of the time).

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of full-time project management experience within a corporate fitout or technical operations team designing and building networking solutions.

  • 2+ years of supplier and vendor management within a buildout or technical department.

  • Avixa CTS, BICSI RCDD, or global equivalent certification preferred.

  • Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or global equivalent certification preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of network, telecom, server, storage, concepts and fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of ITIL principles

  • Experience with Data center environments, planning Rack elevations, Power, cabling and other requirements related to new builds. 

  • Proficiency with industry relevant software including scheduling, reporting, resource management, and construction drawings.

  • Working knowledge of construction practices. (e.g. architectural terms, estimating, scheduling, building codes, and construction best practice)

  • Basic knowledge of BMS, IP/CCTV, access control, environmental monitoring and alarms, and other systems and how they integrate into the overall facility.

  • Proven experience developing project schedules, teams, technical designs, SOWs, RFPs, conducting interviews, and objectively evaluating tender responses.

  • Strong background working within IT operations and infrastructure design, implementation, or familiarity with implementation standards, previous experience installing systems preferred support teams. Previous experience administering, implementing, or supporting IT systems preferred.

  • Strong experience managing global procurement, supply chain, and logistics

  • Strong communication skills; skilled at cross-functional and cross-organizational communication.

  • Ability to motivate, persuade and lead a team effort toward the goals of the project.

  • Basic knowledge of working with landlords and municipalities to deliver network and voice circuits.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to forecast budgets and manage accruals

  • Ability to solve advanced problems within complex situations with little supervision

  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines with little supervision.

  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles, including experience managing POs and invoices

Education Level/Degree:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience
