Your role at Sephora:

As a Program Manager you will oversee a portfolio of project initiatives and will provide hands-on leadership and direction to a team of project managers leading those initiatives. We are looking for someone who can be a steward of our delivery and development methodologies and drive consistent practices throughout the organization.  This person will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and have extensive experience leading retail technology project and program managers. Reporting to the Director, PMO you will drive direction, planning and execution for initiatives within the Stores, Store Digital, and Shared Services Portfolio. In addition, you will:

  • Drive alignment across multiple projects, ranging in complexity, to ensure success of key IT initiatives
  • Manage a team of project managers and provide strong leadership for managed projects and programs
  • Responsible for the project delivery of multiple cross-functional initiatives within given program area
  • Provide input to the strategic planning for the PMO including roadmap planning, budget, resource planning, and helping grow the org
  • Proactively anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts or project issues
  • Implement PMO best practices; drive methodology standardization and implement iterative process improvements
  • Provide context and support as we rollout new processes and tools, drive adoption, and be a champion for the “why”- the business rationale for implementing the change
  • Plan, monitor, and track project delivery and take corrective action as appropriate. 
  • Coach, mentor, and train as appropriate
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring and onboarding of new team members

We’re excited about you if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience using established project management methodologies and tools to develop and execute project plans including, work plans, schedules, milestones, critical paths, project scope
  • Strong analytical ability and knowledge of IT project and portfolio management processes; experience managing project finances/budget
  • Flexible and strong leader with an ability to inspire; self-motivated; willing to roll up his/her sleeves to move the team and company forward
  • Broad understanding of the landscape, with the ability to go deep into the details, to think big, and to roll up your sleeves
  • Solution oriented; ability to think critically and to provide thoughtful and innovate solutions to proactively address issues and problems as they arise
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to influence, connect, and collaborate with a variety of groups and personalities, both technical and not technical, at all levels of the organization
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management with demonstrated success working in enterprise software
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • The successful candidate is adept at building relationships cross-functionally and gaining alignment with our business partners.
  • Prior experience with Innotas or similar PPM tool a plus
  • Previous retail technology experience strongly desired
  • PMI certification a plus
